Happy Thanksgiving/#500

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

As a happy coincidence, this happens to be the 500th posted on NSP. I am thankful for many things, but particularly those readers who have been here since the beginning and continue to support this blog, despite its occasionally unreliable updating. NSP is now almost two years old, and it will be much less than two more years before we hit 1000. NSP will be around for years to come.

Happy Thanksgiving again!

Kiffmeyer in the House?

Call me a skeptic, but I just don't see Mary Kiffmeyer running for the Minnesota House. Moving from an executive position like Secretary of State to a non-leadership position in the state house is very much a backwards move, and it's just not very likely. Look at outgoing Speakers of the House Dennis Hastert and Steve Sviggum at the federal and state levels, respectively: both are widely rumored to be seriously considering retirement. It isn't any fun to go from being in charge to being a back-bencher. HD16B is strong Republican territory (Pawlenty earned 61%), so there is also no need for the GOP to call on Kiffmeyer to run.

It's possible, but don't hold your breath.
